Any Further Information: At present mother doesnt work but is still very busy and a part time university student. We have experience with au pairs before, which has on the whole been a success in our household. If an au pair can come into our household and bring real value to it, she will find it a mutually beneficial arrangement and hard work and good sense will be rewarded. Before au pairs we did employ a professional nanny for three years (whilst mother was at work) and everyone got along famously. We feel that we are a very flexible, easy going household and any applicant who might be interested in joining our household would be very welcome to speak to our previous au pairs/nanny to find out what we are really like! Father in this household has very demanding job and mother is now a stay at home mother for the time being. We would like our au pair to really become part of our family and be happy living with us - we are always talking and laughing so a cheery person with a real sense of fun is absolutely essential. A "can do " attitude is also required and we really hope our au pair will be prepared to "muck in" if she sees that something needs doing - if the bin needs emptying and mum hasnt got round to it, please help her !! Do not wait to be asked specifically to do something - if it looks like it needs doing, please help! We do have a cleaner twice a week so no real onerous housework involved at all. There will often be an opportunity for extra pocket money to be earned. Have tried to attach some family photos but this form will not let me so if you email me I can forward you some so you can see what we all look like and what sort of house we live in. We usually go out once/twice a week and the au pair will nearly always be able to go out at the weekend if she wants in the evening (either on the saturday or the sunday night). We are not looking for an au pair who goes out every night of the week and who thinks coming home at 2am all the time is acceptable. This does not mean we are not happy for the au pair to have a social life - in fact we actively encourage it as we want our au pair to be happy - however, our house is not a hotel !
In the past we have only asked our au pairs to work monday to friday - however, this time round we would like some help on a saturday morning as well - just tidying the childrens rooms, help them get dressed (sometimes) making beds and cleaning up the kitchen as well as walking the dog.
