| House And Locality Description: |
We live in a 5 bedroom house in Harwich. We have a small garden and live in a quiet road next to open fields and views of the sea. Harwich is a quiet seaside town with good transport links to London which is only 75 minutes away by train, Harwich is on the London line so it is very easy to visit it and get around. As we work in London we know it very well! We are also very near Colchester, which is the oldest town on Britain, founded by the Romans. It has a good castle and lots of museums. We are also near Dedham Vale and Flatford Mill, which was the subject of one of Britain's famous artists, Constable. East Anglia, which is the region of Britain we live in, is very sparsely populated. It is a very big farming area, mainly agriculture, and quite flat. It has some very wild and rugged coast; a lot of it is being reclaimed by the sea. |

| Describe Duties Of Au Pair: |
I do not work on Fridays. I use my Fridays to clean the house from top to bottom, do my grocery shopping and spend some extra time with the children. I am also the director of the local school (which in the UK is a voluntary position) so I have a weekly meeting at the school with the Head Teacher. After school I usually take the children into Harwich to the library and then to the cafe for hot chocolate. The housework that I need you to help with is as follows
Help the children make their beds Put away their clean clothes Change their beds once a week Keep their rooms tidy Make their pack lunches for school Empty their school bags every day Help them tidy up their toys every day Iron the clothes Wash the sink/bath after they have used it Hoover the sitting room 2 times a week (Monday & Wednesday) Sweep the kitchen & utility room every day Tidy up the breakfast things & clean the kitchen sides/table/hob Driving You will have sole use of a car whilst you are with us which you can use any time, even when you are not working. You will need to drive the children to their clubs, but school is within walking distance. We will keep the car maintained, and give you £10 per month to cover the cost of pertrol for taking the children around and about. We will also insure you on it. However you must keep the car clean and tidy and treat it with respect, just as you would your own car. Should you receive any penalties for speeding or parking, then you would have to pay this yourself. Your qualities & role I need a girl who will look after our children, begin to prepare dinner for us and keep the children's rooms tidy. We are looking for you to start as soon as possible (sometime in February would be great as then you can meet Giulia, our current Aupair) for as long as you can. Your ideal qualities would be
Good time keeping Very organised Patient Very clean & tidy Sociable and confident Good sense of humour Good level of spoken English Honest Confident with animals Safe and careful driver Warm personality
You would only work on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Your time would be spent mostly looking after the children and their well-being. A typical day would be getting the children up at 7.30, breakfast, bath, getting them dressed, making their pack lunch and then walking them to school at 8.45. You would then return home, spend a couple of hours ironing or tidying the house and the rest of your day would be free. You would collect the children from school at 3.15 and then take them to their after school activities as follows
Monday - Nothing Tuesday - Isabella goes swimming (you will need to drive to this, it's in Harwich but a bit too far to walk) Wednesday - (Alexander goes to Cubs (you will need to drive to this, it's in Harwich but a bit too far to walk) Thursday - Isabella goes to Rainbows (you will need to drive to this, it's in Harwich but a bit too far to walk)
Also at some point, it would be nice if you can take the children down to my grandparents to visit, maybe every Monday afternoon - you can leave them there and collect them later.
With regards to the animals, I would need you to take Sirius out for a walk on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. Edward and I go to a fitness camp on Monday, Wednesday and Friday evenings so Edward doesn't really have time to take Sirius out . We live right next to open fields so a nice walk for 1 hour will be ideal. On some days when Edward and I go to our fitness club, the children may want to stay at home, on these occasions we may ask you to 'watch' them for us for the hour. |
