House And Locality Description: In the middle of a small village (one pub) but seven miles on a very easy road into the nearest town of Banbury (one hour direct train into central London; 20 mins into oxford) 45 minutes into Birmingham). Old farm house (1680s), six acres of land - lots of space inside and outside. Lots of privacy. Beautiful countryside and walks. shop and cash point in next village.Stratford upon Avon, Royal Leamington Spa, Warwick and Oxford are all very easily accessible and we are just on the edge of the Cotswolds.
Will Have Own Bedroom: Yes - Au pair will have her own floor on the top of the house (including a sitting room). the only time she will have to share the sitting room is when we have weekend guests/my mother stays over (not v often really).  Will Have Own Bathroom: Yes - this is a spacious shower room which the au pair will only hve to share when we have weekend guests (not that often). If au pair wants a bath, she is very welcome to use the bath in the children's bedroom.

Weekly Money: 70 +  Do You Have Any Pets: one labrador dog; two cats (geriatrics)
They Are To Care For Pets: Yes - help with dog walking (one nine year old lab who needs a decent walk of about half an hour at least once a day )  They Can Attend Language Classes: Yes - Absolutely - happy to find out the best course available and show them where to go/contribute something towards the costs
They Are Required To Drive: Yes - As we live seven miles outside Banbury, we recommend that the au pair drives and is confident doing so - otherwise she will be reliant on us to drop her off at the station all the time which is not alwaysgoing to be practical for her. We do have a push bike she's welcome to use as well if she wants to bike up to the next village (where there is a shop/cash point). We can give her some refresher lessons if au pair feeling a bit nervous
Car Available For Private Use: Yes - Range rover automatic. we appreciate that not everyone can drive an automatic, and that a RR is a large car. We can reconsider this arrangement if this is the only reason a good au pair would not want to come to live with our family.  Petrol Provided For Private Use: Yes - So long as not excessive consumption!
In Case Of Accident, Will They Pay Excess: No - We will sort this out at our end and cover insurance costs  If Yes, Approximate Amount:
They Will Have Sole Charge Of Children: Yes - Sometimes this will be required but it wont be for prolonged periods (eg an hour or two if mother has a dental appointment or needs to pop out). This is all negotiable and will depend on how comfortable the au pair and the mother feel about it all.
They Are Expected To Cook: Yes - Certainly with regard to preparing the children's meals (which is always easy - pasta/fish fingers/eggs etc). Any other help with adult cooking greatly appreciated but certainly not expected!  They Are To Accompany You On Holiday: Yes - On most occasions yes if practical.
Do They Need To Swim: No - not necessary so long as au pair is happy in the children's (shallow) pool at our local leisure centre (water is waist high)
Consider A Male: No
Any Further Information: We are both professional people (lawyers). We have just had a summer au pair with us from Germany which has on the whole been a success in our household - it's getting better each week but she returns to her studies mid September Therefore we would like to continue with an au pair for a minimum of three months - 6 months. Before our german au pair we did employ a nanny for three years (whilst mother was at work) and everyone got along famously. We feel that we are a very flexible, easy going household and any applicant who might be interested in joining our household would be very welcome to speak to either our German au pair or our Swedish nanny to find out what we are really like! Father in this household has very demanding job and mother is now a stay at home mother for the time being. We would like our au pair to really become part of our family and be happy living with us - we are always talking and laughing so a cheery person with a real sense of fun is absolutely essential. A "can do " attitude is also required and we really hope our au pair will be prepared to "muck in" if she sees that something needs doing - if the bin needs emptying and mum hasnt got round to it, please help her !! We do have a cleaner twice a week so no real onerous housework involved at all. There will often be an opportunity for extra pocket money to be earned. Have tried to attach some family photos but this form will not let me so if you email me I can forward you some so you can see what we all look like
