My work experience includes:
- Au pairing two boys aged 2.5 and 4.5 -The Raphael Centre: Weekly volunteer with a set of 11-year-old twins who have been orphaned. I worked on developing their numeracy and literacy skills, which were 4 years below average. -Siyazama Preschool: Weekly volunteer, taught basic English to children aged 5-6. -French & Italian courses: worked as a paid tutor for beginner students between the ages of 19 and 60. - Sugarbay Holiday Resort: trained as a Camp Counselor for children ages 7-17
I want to be an au pair in 2012 to broaden my experience of child care and teaching assistance, and to put my training and skills to good use. I think au pairs offer an invaluable service, and as an au pair I hope to grow a lot as a person - in terms of work experience, but also in terms of personal skills such as patience, diligence and reliability. I hope to be a reliable aid to parents, and I hope their children will feel safe and comfortable with me, and will develop their academic and social skills by having me as their assistant.
