Dear family (now I stay in Whitstable, so some of these informations are out-of-date - I AM AVAILABLE ASAP!!)
My name is Michaela Kostalova, I am twenty one years old and live in the Czech Republic. I would like to work as an au-pair in England from the end of September 2008. I am planning to stay there for six months at least.
Now I work as an editor in a Prague's company, study economics and live separately from my parents. I have one brother and one sister. They are twins aged eighteen. I used to take care about them when we were younger. Nowadays I spend plenty of time with my boyfriend's brother Kevin. He is the eight years old gentleman interested in computers, films and languages. His parents are busy at work, so I help them with housework from time to time. I do not afraid of housework and I also like cooking. I must say Kevin is very obliging and pleasant assistant :)
I have been always interested in everything connected with education system. In fact, I was thinking about becoming a teacher. I am fine with helping children with homework etc. Actually that is what I am looking forward to. When my sister and I were younger we played school very often. Nowadays I give Dominika extra lessons from Czech and Math. Dominika lives in a Prague's children's house and attends basic school. This cute little lady is clever and studious, but she has problems with fluent reading and quick counting.
On average I visit my family in Brno ones a week. My mother Vera is a businesswoman, but we spend a lot of time together at the weekend. We go to the cinema or have dinner somewhere in town. My father Michael works as a manager in a German's company. Zuzka and Martin (siblings) are students. They will leave school this year. They both want to go to university then.
My main hobby is travelling. Fortunately travelling is part and parcel of my job. I like getting to know new people, other mentalities and different cultures. I have been to India, Turkey, Iran, Kenya, Egypt, Tunisia, Brasil and many European countries. I also visited England when I was about thirteen. Unfortunately the only things I remember are the sights of London and picturesque family houses everywhere. I like U. K. and it has been my dream to spend there longer time since I took a trip there.
I would like to improve my English in England. I believe interacting with children (e. g. playing games, helping them with homework, reading, having a chat) will be great opportunity for me to practise the language. I also would like to attend some language school. I have studied English for ages, but I do not feel confident at it and I know I still make mistakes.
Lastly, I would like to mention my hobbies. I am sort of a romantic what means I like walking, reading and visiting historic buildings as well as nice nature reserves. I think I can draw and sing quite well. I am not a big sportswoman, but I go swimming from time to time.

I would like to improve my English, because my dream is to write for some international magazines one day. Also I am thinking about going to Uganda as an English teacher for a few months after my studies. I think taking care about children would be the great opportunity for practising English.
