Dear Family, I am a 20 year old girl from Poland, my name is Sylwia Piosik. I am student of secondary school and I study about economics, management, languages and also spend much time working with computers. On May 2010 I will take my final exams for the Certificate of Secondary Education. From July 2010 I would like to start be Au Pair in England for a year. I do much travelling and I think England is the best country I have been to so far; I think people there are very kind and friendly. I find English culture very interesting for me, red double-decker buses, red telephone boxes, English music for example! What about my hobbies? Well, right now I have very little free time because I have much studying to do for my final exams. But when I have free time I meet with my friends, I like to play many sports, swimming, basketball and volleyball for example, and I learn to play the guitar. My other interest is steam locomotives and volunteering at the last steam depot in Europe in Wolsztyn, which is what makes our town famous. I also really enjoy listening to good music. I am sure you would like to know about my experience with children. In March 2008 I finished a course to become a student leader for children which allowed me to teach children on summer camps. I attended two camps; the first camp was 3 weeks long, and the second time it was 6 weeks long. When I was teacher I was looking after a group of about 15 children, they were all aged between 5-13 years. My duty on these camps was to anything and everything with the children. I was spending all day with them; I had to wake them up, work with the children, supervise them with everything from eating, sleeping, dressing, swimming etc. I was spending many hours playing with children! I had to be ready to help every child. On these camps I had a really great time!! Another duty I have is to look after my cousins. I spend much time with them, when my Uncle and Aunt are busy or something. Younger children also come to me if they have problems or difficulty with schoolwork and I try to help with their learning and understanding of the subjects. I think being Au Pair will be new experience for me. I enjoy spending time with children and playing with them. One year in England will make a big difference to better my English I think. After being Au Pair I want to study at university, maybe it will even be a uni in England ... :-) I think that is all to say about me. If you have any questions just ask me by email or by phone, it would be a pleasure to talk to you. Love, Sylwia..
