My name is Samuela Dimitrova (Sammy for short). I would like to apply to become your nanny/au pair.
I am a Bulgarian girl. From the age of 4 until I turned 18, I have lived in South Africa where my parents still live and work as missionaries. I loved it there, but I also love traveling. I am the eldest daughter of 6. I have been home schooled since grade 4, along with all my brothers and sisters. I have enjoyed being home schooled very much and feel very privileged that my parents were able to give me such great education. I am a Christian. I love God and He is the most important person in this world to me.
I am a very well organized, but also loving and compassionate person. I know how to keep my cool about things and do not let little things bother me. I used to sing in two Christian bands and take dancing lessons in Tap, Hip Hop, and Modern dancing. I love reading novels, especially biographies. I love to write short stories for children and teens, as well as essays and poem. I am starting to study in the new year and need to carry on working. I love cooking and baking and plan to write my very own recipe book one day. I love all kinds of art and enjoy oil painting and sketching landscapes.
I know I am young, but I also know that children are my passion and I have a gift for working with children. My love for children began in my early teen years. I love working with children of all ages. Children give me great joy. They are very special and close to my heart. I love the smiles and laughter they bring, but I also know how to handle the tears and problems they may have, always ready to offer a listening ear. I would love to be able to create happy memories with your children.
My first experience working with children was when I turned 13. I started helping out in the Sunday School of the church where I grew up. At the age of 15, I joined a group of volunteers who went regularly to visit and play with the children of a nearby orphanage. There with the teenagers at camps and the juniors at day outings. I consider myself very privileged to have been able to have that experience.
In 2007, I joined the organization called Royal Family Kids Camp, which organizes a one-week-long camps for abused and neglected children between 7-12. There they are spoiled and showered with love and attention. I was a stuff member, assisting the art club and team games.
That same year, I took a job as a part-time au-pair to two Bulgarian girls. I would pick them up from school and help them with their homework. I would also do light housework like dishwashing and tidying up, as well as preparing their lunch, when necessary. I would stay with them until their parents came home. In the holidays I was with the girls from 7 a.m. until 8 p.m. I would keep them busy with educational games and fun activities. My main concern was to make sure they were safe!
During the course of 2008, I helped out at Channon Nursery school in Benoni, as a substitute teacher to the group of 3-4 years olds. I was in charge of preparing the daily educational program, including art lessons, games and perceptional activities, story time, and physical education.
In February, 2009, I started working at Sugar Bay – a luxury holiday/camp resort for children. There I obtained my First Aid Certificate and worked as a Counselor with children aged 7-16. I look after them 24/7 and coached them through a variety of activities - kayaking, hiking, swimming, all arts and crafts, surfing, knee broading, and helpoed run evening programactivities such as fashion shows and treasure hunts.
In 2010, I once again became an au pair to a wonderful family in England. I looked after their little angel baby girl of 2 daily (Monday to Friday) and made sure she is safe and having fun. I would take her to play groups and meet up with all her friends for play dates during the week. I did some light house work, too. During the same year, for the first two terms, I also looked after a 9 year old girl on a Friday afternoon. I would take her to the dance class and spend some time with her until her parents come home from work.
I do not mind long hours and all nighters; I am already accustomed to them. I can handle the emotional strain that comes with it as well. I grew up with 5 brothers and sisters, so I know how a family works. I helped my parents at home in any way possible. I can do most housework chores. My parents taught me how to keep a home clean. I know how to wash dishes, do the washing, iron, sweep and mop floors, dust, and vacuum clean. I would not mind helping out with the housework.
Thank you for your time in reading this application. I hope you choose me as your nany/ au pair.
God Bless, Sammy
