Dear Host Family, I am Andi. I have had a very demanding job at the Budapest Music Centre from 1996-2009 but have taken a sabbatical from there because I need a break and I badly need to brush up my English. I went to UK and I worked as a carer with a daisbled lady for 18 months. After I came back to Hungary to help for my Mother around her house. But now I would like to go back to UK. I will set out below my qualifications for child minding. I was 14 when my brother was born whom I was practically forced to bring up until the age of 4 due to rather complicated family circumstances. After my matriculation exams I went to Germany where I looked after three girls – aged 6 months, 3 years and 6 years respectively - all of them suffering from disabilities. The 6 month old baby suffered from a serious allergy, the 3 year old was disabled and also had a severe speech impediment while the 6 year old suffered from a milder sort of allergy. I was practically considered as the fourth daughter in this family and was part of their daily life 24/7. I still found time to attend language classes, choir practice and swimming as an exercise. There was one month however when the mother had to go to hospital with her 6 months old and I was left in charge alone. When later I worked for the Operetta Theatre in Budapest as an assistant director, for two years I had to coordinate and deal with a cast of 30 children from the age of 6 to 16 for a musical. I always enjoyed being with children and I consider myself patient and responsible – traits that have been required in practically all the jobs I’ve had.
