My name is Rebecca. I'm a mature 19 year old, living and studying away from home in Belfast, Northern Ireland. I'm originally from South East London, and moved to University without any friends or relatives and I have had the time of my life here! I study History and Social Anthropology, with a bit of French on the side, and absolutely adore my course. History is a real passion of mine, but I have no idea yet what future career I'd like to head for, I'm hoping university will give me some inspiration; I am thinking of becoming an academic, but am undecided.
In terms of hobbies, I was always into badminton and netball, I also learnt to play some instruments but once my A Levels started and I moved to university I haven't had much time to start anything up again, between studying and working. I would like to get back into a sport, and perhaps pick up another language at some point; I was also very much into our school's Amnesty International campaigning which fascinated me, so I may go back to that too.
My friends know me for how much I adore children - I am very broody constantly! Lots of maternal energy for my age perhaps, which is why I enjoy taking care of them so much. I particularly love very young children, babies and toddlers, and have experience looking after my teachers' children; Sophia was around 7 months, Madeline about 2 and Finlay about 5. I also looked after some children last summer, around 6 months, 3 years and 5 years. With this last family I spent a week at their house during the days, feeding the children, playing with them, tidying the house and cooking for them. I am a fairly good cook, and enjoy these kinds of responsibilities.
I know that I love looking after kids, teaching them new things and helping them grow. Finlay once asked me what global warming was, as I'd bought him a baby encyclopedia (he's a very curious 5yr-old!), which was an interesting challenge but he just about understood my basic explanation and later repeated it to his mum which made me very proud! I'd like to earn some money over summer in a job that's more interesting and challenging than my day-to-day one, and one which I know I enjoy. I know it's hard work, but I genuinly enjoy the challenge and find it extremely rewarding. I'm outgoing, polite, optimistic and try always to be happy and bubbly.
My start date is negotiable - I am looking for work over my university summer holidays so it would be late May - mid June, up until September. Whenever would suit you in that time.

Reasons For Becoming An Au Pair/Nanny etc:
I'd love to do something a bit different over my university holidays, earn some money through new experiences and I believe I would gain a lot from this kind of job. I'd like perhaps to go abroad to do it, but thought the first time I should stay closer to home.
