Dear future-host family, My name is Laura and I'm 19 years old. I live with my parents and one bigger sister(22) in a little village near a small town called Fulda, which is near Frankfurt. I love to work with children in my spare time. That's why I'm leading a children's group in my village and help on certain Christian Children's weekend a few times per year. Besides social work my biggest passion is music. I play piano and the organ and started a three years education in choir conducting a year ago which I'm going to graduate in summer 2011. Unfortunately I'm not allowed to miss my courses for more than three months which is the reason why my stay in Great Britain is limited but I hope the time will be enough to get an impression of the country and probably encourage me to visit Great Britain again:) Furthermore it would be very important for me to have the opportunity to practice piano playing at least a few times per week. It would be wonderful if this was arrangeable! I hope my profile will help you to get to know me a bit better. I want to work as an au-pair because I've already made a lot of experiences with "healthy" and disabled children in my sparetime. Great Britain is very fascinating for me because English is one of my favorite subjects at school. I have attended bilingual classes in Geography, History and Politics&Economics since 7th grade and now attend the English proficiency course quite successfully. Therefore my English is rather good I'd say but I'm always ready to improve it. I am very interested in music as I play the piano, the organ and attend singing lessons as well as singing in a choir. On top of that I'm doing a three years education in choir conducting which I'm going to graduate in summer 2011. I also like going out dancing, meeting friends and doing outside activities. Furthermore I like being with children, leading a christian children's group and children's weekends a few times per year.
Reasons For Becoming An Au Pair/Nanny etc:
English is my favorite subject at school as I have attended bilingual classes since 7th grade and now attend the English Proficiency course quite succesfully. Therefore I would love to practice to speak English with native speakers and also experience the "British way of life"as I really love the country I've only visited once but fell in love with. Furthermore I love children and like to spend time with them as I'm have made quite a lot of child care experiences. On top of that I ewanted to see something different from school after my graduation in the A_levels this year before going to university. Working as an Au-pair seemed to be a good way of becoming more independent and getting to know a different culture.
